Our Very First Fish Surgery

A very distraught customer called to say she had problems with her fish. Alicia and I went to check it out. We brought the worst looking of the fish back to the shop for diagnosis. Turns out that the fish had Lymphocystis. She didn't want this fish back. After trying several treatments, we determined that this was a tumor growing on this fish instead of Lympho. We decided to attempt surgery to remove it. We sedated the fish, and removed the tumor. I then sealed the surgical site with a paste of Potassium Permanganate, and placed the fish in a q-tank for recovery. The pic's below show before we removed the tumor, and the results one week later. Amazing! The best part is.....the fish still lives!!
